We took the girls down to Carlsbad yesterday for some berry picking. We came home and were greeted by a rattle snake in the back yard! It bit our dog Dexter in the nose before we found it.. so we spent the afternoon at the Animal ER and little brave Dexter got an IV and some antivenin. We now have a bucket of yummie berries for some strawberry pie for dessert tonight AND most important we have a LIVING dog who got to come home tonight..

So.Cal people: Clear all brushes close to your home. Get rid of your kids playhouses and sandboxes. Make sure you have a fence that cant let a snake through. Kill ALL rodents and cover any holes you find in your yard. Rattlesnakes are NASTY little creatures!
