Growing up in Sweden we always had a fun egg hunt for Easter every year. HOWEVER, the huge difference from the way (most??) people have it set up in America is You only got ONE egg. ONE huge fat candy filled (paper) egg. Maybe 2 if You were lucky and Your grandma threw one in the mix as well.

For some reason my parents ALWAYS had to include yucky easter candy.. like hard sugary eggs or marshmallow bunnies.. when ALL I wanted was a egg full of delicious licorice, or gummies, and well some chocolates. Nom nom.

When we first had kids I was ADAMANT my kids better have a swedish style easter egg hunt ‘Hey, my (Swedish!) kids don’t need 20 eggs.. 1 is just fine!’ .. and I spent hours upon house, days upon days searching for these darn paper eggs I had such fond memories of from my childhood (you can now buy them at any Worldmarket if anyone is looking *winkwink*). My oldest is now 9.. and I have totally given up on the kids getting ONE egg.. of course they need 15 eggs each. Because come on, what kind of HUNT is it really if You only need to find one egg (thats HUGE).
